Meet the author.

Dr. Frank Alexander Clark is a board-certified adult outpatient psychiatrist at Prisma Health-Upstate. He also serves as clinical associate professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Greenville.

Frank is prolific poet who uses his creative side to provide a voice and raise awareness for issues pertaining to mental health and diversity, equity, and inclusion. He has collaborated with composers both nationally and internationally who have set his poetry to music. His works have been performed by the South Carolina Philharmonic.

He is also the author of two children’s books, Positively Haiku Part 1 and Positively Haiku Part 2, inspiring young minds and hearts through poetry and affirmations.

Community Involvement

 

Background

Frank is an avid runner having qualified twice for the Boston Marathon. He participated in 2013 with a finishing time of 2:54:43. He was a collegiate athlete, participating in both cross country and track. Fast on feet in more than one way, Frank also enjoys dancing — zumba, hip hop, tap, ballet, jazz.

He is a self-published poet. His most recent collection of poetry is titled “The Other Side” with another collection in the works. His poetry reflects his journey in life from a doctor’s perspective. He is also the author of two children’s books.

Frank is deeply philanthropic. He has participated in more than a dozen medical missions trips to Canada, Guatemala, Haiti, Ireland, Nicaragua, Zambia, and local communities in the US.

Frank is happily married to Dr. Jennifer Clark, and they are the proud parents of Claire. Frank and his family are active in their church, Fourth Presbyterian Church and community, Simpsonville, SC.
